Calling all Black Rock Citizens No images? Click here
Greetings Black Rock Citizen! Woah what a year. That was hot and dusty and fun and wild like never before. Even Burning Man Co-founder Danger Ranger, who has been instrumental in Black Rock City since before some of you were born, observed while sitting in camp with his goggles on, “I’ve seen dust storms this bad, but I have never endured heat in the Black Rock Desert as bad as this.” Just in case you forgot how awesome Burning Man was, I dug up this joyful playa memory to share with you all.
(Photo by Olivier Raunier) If you were there, you’re a trooper. There was still a team in the Black Rock Desert until the end of the first week of October. Playa Restoration are true warriors, making sure the desert is cleaner than we found it. If you dropped your experiences in the Covid+Exodus survey — thank you! We’re reading every response. Now, before we all put a tidy bow on all things BRC 2022, we want to know about YOU — who you are, where you’re from, what you get up to in Black Rock City, and more. Did you do it yet? If you were in Black Rock City this year, please take a few minutes to fill out the Census. We need about 12,000 completed forms to get the most reliable data, and we currently have around 6,500 submitted. Who are you? ;-) Survey closes on October 20! (Photo by Deets Shay) The Census endeavor is run by volunteers who are bona-fide data analysts. And yes, we share the results with you! Here’s some juicy data from Black Rock City 2019:
Fascinating, right? Knowing more about you helps us with our year-round planning. We wouldn’t leave you without a generous dose of playa tingles. Check out this breathtaking video filmed and edited by Vincent Rommelaere, with aerial cinematography by Jamen Percy. I hope your Black Rock City adventures left you awestruck and inspired to make wondrous things happen out in the world.
